I love, love, love this curling silky rod with silky scrunchies to hold the ends. I use it both on damp and dry hair to hold the style as I sleep. The first time I tried it, I misted my hair before wrapping and slept in it. It done absolutely nothing. So fast forward a few weeks and I decided to try it again and do it differently. So I left it completely dry and didn't use any products in it. To get it as tight as possible, I let my daughter wrap it for me and we done it with both sides facing down towards my back instead of my shoulders. This was my results after sleeping in it all night and 3 hours after I had taken it down. Still with no products. So I give this a 10 out of 10! When done correctly it works better than any curling iron!
